As missionary nation, United State and western nation stand by their commitments to human rights and democracy, and should try to influence other countries to move in their direction1. It makes us (Islamic People) becoming decline as the intellectual capacity and the moral problems.

1. The weakness within intellectual capacity (Al Jahlu).

The weakness within intellectual capacity required at least the following:

a.     Dho’fut Tarbiyah (The weakness of education)

The weakness within formal education and informal education have felt by contemporary Islamic people. It have occurred as our education mental framework has used western philosophy. Furthermore, we didn’t use Islamic scientific conceptual scheme for the base of our mental framework, and it made us become the people who have scientifically and rationally approach to solve contemporary problems.

b.     Dho’fut Tsaqofah (The weakness within science and technology)

Presently, the development of science and technology has been going faster. But contemporary Islamic people were late to understand it. As we known, there were many the best universities in the world (MIT, Harvard University, Oxford University, etc) established in USA and Europe as the center of western education. It show that the education condition of contemporary Islamic countries were worst than western education. Because of this, we couldn’t become the leader of human being. Furthermore, we were just becoming the consumer. We couldn’t produce the leading technology products.

c.     Dho’fut Takhthith (The weakness within Planning)

Contemporary Islamic people didn’t have the definite strategies. Our strategies were becoming mystery. It occurred as the Islamic people had produced by the worst creation and we didn’t have the properly knowledge.

d.     Dho’fut Tanjim (The weakness within organizing)

Today, there were many organizations based on western Philosophy such as secularism, orientalism, postmodernism, etc. They have created the strong organizations whereas the Islamic people organizations were weakness within organizing, and it made us as the looser. It liked Khalifah Ali ra statement that “The truth with the worst planning could be defeated by the wickedness which has the best plan”.

e.     Dho’fut Amniyah (The weakness within security)

The contemporary Islamic people has had the weakness within security. Furthermore, the western people atole our wealthy, Not only our natural resources but also our moral was destroyed by them. We couldn’t protect our Aqidah from the western faith.

f.        Dho’fut Tanfidz (The weakness within mobilizing our talents)

Contemporary Islamic people couldn’t be grateful to Allah SWT who has been giving everything we need. When we could do that, it would raise Kuatut Tanfidz as the power to mobilize ourselves.

Sebagai bangsa misi, amerika dan bangsa barat memegang komitmen-komitmen mereka untuk HAM dan demokrasi dan hendaknya menyebarkan nilai-nilai tersebut kepada peradaban lain¹. Hal ini membuat umat muslim mengalami kemunduran karena kapasitas intelektual dan problematika moral.

1.      Kelemahan dalam kapasitas intelektual (Al Jahlu)

Kelemahan dalam kapasitas intelektual ini terdiri dari :

a.     Dho’fut Tarbiyah (lemah dalam pendidikan )

Kelemahan dalam pendidikan formal maupun informal telah dirasakan oleh umat muslimsaat ini. Hal ini terjadi karena kerangka berfikir yang kita gunakan selama ini menggunakan filosofi barat. Sehingga, kita tidak menggunakan konsep sains islam sebagai dasar dari kerangka berfikir kita, dan hal ini menyebabkan kita menjadi orang yang menggunakan pendekatan sains dan rationalisasi dalam menyelesaikan masalah-masalah yang ada.

b.     Dho’fut Tsaqofah (Lemah dalam ilmu pengetahuan)

Saat ini, ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi berkembang secara pesat. Akan tetapi, umat muslim terasa tertinggal untuk merasakan perkembangan tersebut. Sebagaimana yang telah kita ketahui, di USA ataupun di Eropa terdapat universitas-universitas kelas dunia (MIT, HARVARD University, Oxford, dl) yang menjadi pusat pendidikan barat. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kondisi pendidikan islam saat ini tidak lebih baik dari dunia pendidikan barat. Hal ini menyebabkan kita tidak menjadi pemimpin para ummat. Sehingga kita hanya jadi pemakai bukan sebagai pencipta dari teknologi yang telah ada.   

c.     Dho’fut Takhthith (Lemah dalam perencanaan)

Ummat muslim saat ini tidak memiliki strategi yang jelas. Strategi-strategi kita hanya menjadi misteri. Hal ini terjadi karena orang-orang islam tidak diproduk dari pembinaan-pembinaan yang baik dan tidak memiliki ilmu pengetahuan yang memadai.

d.     Dho’fut Tanjim (lemah dalam pengorganisasian)

Sekarang ini terdapat gerakan-gerakan yang berdasarkan filosofi barat seperti sekularisme, orientalisme, postmodernisme, etc. Mereka menciptakan organisasi-organisasi yang kuat sedangkan ummat islam mengalami kelemahan dalam pengorganisasian sehingga kita mengalami kekalahan. Hal ini seperti yang diucapkan oleh Khalifah ali ra. “Kebenaran tanpa system yang baik akan dikalahkan oleh kebatilan yang terorganisir dengan baik”. 

e.     Dho’fut Amniyah (Lemah dalam keamanan)

Umat islam saat ini mengalami kelemahan dalam pengamanan. Oleh karena itu, orang-orang barat merampok kekayaan kita, baik itu kekayaan alam maupun kekayaan moril kita. Kita tidak bias menjaga Aqidah kita dari keytakinan barat. 

f.        Dho’fut Tanfidz (Lemah dalam memobilisasi potensi-potensi diri)

Umat muslim saat ini tidak mensyukuri atas banyaknya nikmat yang kita perlukan dari Allah SWT. Ketika kita bias melakukannya, akan muncul Kuatut Tanfidz yaitu kekuatan untuk memobilisasi diri kita.
